One of My Picks for Anastasia in a New Hallmark Channel Movie

Alexis_Bledel_2008Anyone who knows me, knows that I love me some Hallmark Channel Movies!  Imagine my surprise last night as I am flipping through channels and I come upon a Movie Premiere called Remember Sunday staring none other than Alexis Bledel (my favorite choice for Ana).

She played a young woman working as a waitress in a diner that a man with a brain injury came into everyday, only to fall in love with her every day anew because his brain injury did not allow him to keep any new memories.

As in all Hallmark Movies, in the end Alexis and her gentleman friend wind up together, despite the memory loss issue and supposedly live happily ever after.

Good thing Alexis is getting to practice dealing with men with issues.  If chosen for Fifty Shades, she will get her fill of them!

Fifty Shades of Grey Casting News

No, there is no official word on casting.  But since we don’t talk too much about casting on the site (check us out on Twitter @50Latersbaby or Facebook for more news on casting) I thought I would do a quick update on some of the more recent casting news.

  • Stephen Amell has said he has had meetings about Fifty Shades of Grey.  No news on who he met with though.
  • There are theories that if Ian Somerhalder does Fifty Shades of Grey he and Nina Dobrev’s relationship wont survive.  Hmmm, I guess the press doesn’t think much of their relationship.
  • Ryan Gosling is taking a break from acting, so he’s out.
  • Apparently there is no news on Matt Bomer, there is just mention of a new Youtube fanmade trailer with him in it.
  • Annonymous found something linking Emma Watson to the film, but she went to Twitter with a snarky comment about how she wouldn’t do it.
  • Alexis Bledel signed on with a new TV show and may not have time to be in the Fifty Shades of Grey film.
  • Mila Kunis also said she wont be in Fifty Shades of Grey. But that comment sounded like “go the fuck away and stop asking about it,” more then her saying she wont do it.
  • Nikki Reed might play Anastasia since she knows Dana Brunetti.

I’m sorry if I missed your favorite.  A lot of other stars have been mentioned, but it’s not actual “news.” So yes, Henry Cavill, Alexandra Daddario, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Alexander Skarsgard and many others are all still in the running.  Or they at least they haven’t publically declined to be in the movie.

Television you dirty birds!  Since a number of my favorite picks for the movie are either on a current television show or an old one, I have found myself looking them up on Netflix as I wait with bated breath for release!

Like Alexis Bledel for Ana, watch a little Gilmore Girls.  Catch Ian Somerhalder on your local CW channel Thursday nights.  Matt Bomer is always dashing on White Collar on USA channel.

I have also started another read through of the trilogy, but now I am trying to keep and open mind and picturing other actors in the roles.

Sweet 16 of Anastasia Steele Winner

After months and months of voting, we have the winner of the Sweet 16 of Anastasia Steele! You voted and you choose:

ASHLEY GREENE

It was a close one though with 51% of the vote going to Ashley and 49% going to Alexis.  We were a little surprised, especially since we got a lot of tweets (don’t know if they voted officially or not) for Alexis.  But the numbers do not lie.  But in the end, Team50 will be making the official choice and there are some great actresses out there.

The Sweet 16 was a fun way to discuss the possibilities, even though some new names have been thrown out.  Thank you for all your participation!

Congrats to these two great actresses.  Incase you missed how we got to these two ladies you can find the brackets here.

So ladies (and gentleman) it’s your chance to vote and comment on which if these you think would make a better Ana in the Fifty Shades of Grey movies!

Incase you can’t place these actresses you might recognize Alexis from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Gilmore Girls, Sin City or Mad Men.  Ashley was mostly recently Alice in the Twilight series, but she’s also been in Pan Am.

Back in October we started a debate over who should play Anastasia in the movie.  We called it the Sweet 16 of Anastasia Steele, picking 16 of the most popular actresses names who have been thrown out to play Ana.  After 3 rounds of voting we have eliminated 14 of those ladies and have come up with the final round:

I admit, I’m a bit surprised, I really thought that Alexandra Daddario would beat Ashley Greene, but you voted and we’re listening.  Well wait until after the holidays to have this last round of voting, I know you’re all busy with family, kids and eating lots of food.
