I’m sure most of you will not be surprised, even if you disagree. Matt Bomer is the winner of the Elite 8 of Christian Grey.  I will admit that when I envisioned this debating series I really thought the final round would be between Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder.  But the Jessie Pavelka fans came out and ousted Ian in the first round.  You spoke, we listened.  But I’m not ruling out the possibility of having a Matt vs Ian debate to hold us over while we wait for actual casting.

Last Fall Mags and I hosted a Sweet 16 of Anastasia Steele debate.  We chose the 16 biggest actresses that had been attached to playing Anastasia at the time, some have gone off the radar since then and a few have come on the scene.  In a surprising finale, Ashley Greene beat out Alexis Bledel, but it was close.

This Spring we thought we would do an Elite 8 for casting Christian Grey.  We’ll be using the Birdfeud system like we did with the Sweet 16, but in an upgrade to their system, you will be able to vote using your Facebook account. 

We know that some of you will be unhappy to see your choice is not on list, but we could only pick 8.  You are welcome let us know your choice in the comments section. Here are our choices (with IMDB links) and the brackets:

Random Page Day!

I was having a little bit of trouble coming up with something to write about today.  Anyone that knows me knows that I usually have a hundreds of things going through my head at any given time and sometimes have trouble focusing in on one.  Crissy suggested that I do a random page post so here I go.  I’m currently re-reading Fifty Shades Darker on my iPad, so i closed my eyes, and randomly stopped on a page (or location with the iPad kindle app.)

” Can I give him up? Do I want to give him up? It’s as if he’s flipped a switch and lit me up from within.  Its been an education knowing him. I have discovered more about myself in the last few weeks than ever before.  I’ve learned about my body, my hard limits, my soft limits, my tolerance, my patience, my compassion, and my capacity for love.”

At this point in story, while Ana is hyper aware of what hers and Christian’s relationship has done for her. She still is not sure that she can be the person that Christian and his “Fifty Shades of fucked up” needs to help him become a whole and healed person.  While we all know that she does wind up coming to terms with hers and Christian’s issues as individuals and as a couple. I think that the majority of us are not looking for so much baggage when starting a relationship.  Do you think you would stay around with someone who had more baggage than the average bear?  An ex-wife or husband, kids, debt, prison terms, what is too much for you to handle and what would it take to make you stay?

Breast Feeding the little ones or the BIG ONE!

Breast feeding has been a hot topic for the masses for years now, whether we are talking about breast feeding children versus using formula, age limits on how old your child should be when you start to wein them off, or if it even okay to breast feed in public.

What about the temptation for your significant other to imbibe during “Adult Time”? As Christian did with Ana in the Epilogue of Fifty Shades Freed.  For a couple that is used to breast play, is it just an added plus or is it inappropriate? Period!  What do you think,  can this make the bond stronger, or can the suggestion tear you apart?

Ladies and Gents, lets keep this as PG13 as you can.

Fifty Shades Fan Fiction

I thought I would take a few moments to mention a few of the Fifty Shades of Grey Fan Fiction sites out there.  I’ll avoid commenting about the writing since we all have a slightly different view of the books and how the characters would think and act.  But, I wont post anything that is complete crap either.  Although most of the sites already state this, Fifty Shades FanFic is generally for adult audiences of 18 or older.
