Happy Anniversary Scavenger Hunt!

THE FIFTY SHADES OF GREY BOOK BASED SCAVENGER HUNT – IN HONOR OF OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Thank you for joining us for the Laters, Baby – Fifty Shades of Grey book based scavenger hunt.  This is in honor of our one year anniversary today.  The hunt will consist of 13 questions from the entire trilogy.  The scavenger hunt will end at noon on Wednesday, May 1, 2013.  At that time we will post the answers in the site and tally up the responses we’ve received.  We will take the top 5 most accurate responses (plus ties) and randomly choose a winner from that group. The winner will be notified via email by Thursday morning. The contest will be open worldwide.

 Prize

  • This scavenger hunt does not permit for teams, each person must complete it by themselves.  There is only one prize and it can’t really be split.
  • After answering the questions you must send the complete list back to us via email to: latersbaby50@gmail.com with “Scavenger Hunt Answers” in the subject line. Please include your name at the end of the email. Multiple submissions from the same person may result in disqualification.
  • You may send your answers with or without the original questions, just make sure the numbering of your answers matches the numbering of the questions.
  • No working as teams or copying other people’s work. If you are caught cheating you will be disqualified.
  • When in doubt, more information is better than less in an answer.
  • Do not post answers on the blog, other websites, facebook or twitter.
  • We will post the answers at noon on Wednesday, if you think one of our answers is wrong please send an email by 5 PM Wednesday and please document where you found your answers.

Fifty Shades of Grey Photo Contest

I thought we would let you gals have some fun with our next giveaway/contest.  We’re having a photo contest!  Yes, we want you to take photos in exchange for prizes, glamouresque style!

For those of you who don’t know, Glamour magazine for many years had a piece at the back of their magazine - where are you reading Glamour?  Readers would submit pictures of where they took their Glamour magazine.  You’re on a trip to Paris and you get a picture of yourself holding the magazine up in front of the Eiffel Tower.

We thought we would switch it up a little bit, here are the basics: take a picture of one of the Fifty Shades of Grey books in an interesting place or setting.  Submit the picture to us via email, Twitter or Facebook.  Mags and I will choose our favorite picture.  The winner will receive a Fifty Shades of Grey handcuff and tie necklace. Simple, right?

Rules

Here’s what you need to do.  Take a picture of one of the Fifty Shades of Grey books in an interesting place, setting or a compromising position. You don’t need to travel or anything, but you MUST be creative.  Traveling is encouraged though, mostly because I like to travel.  It can be any book in the series, hard cover or soft cover.  I wont eliminate the option of using an ebook, but if I can’t see the cover of the book on the screen then it wont count.

Please keep the pictures clean, as in not offensive or pornographic.  We would like to post the winning picture on the website and if it’s of you having sex while holding Fifty Shades of Grey then we can’t post it on the site and you wont win if I’m traumatized either.

So, what are we looking for?  You guys and gals surprise me everyday with the stuff you come up with so I don’t know, but I’ll know it when I see it.  But things like exotic locations, silly poses, and giraffes might earn you extra points.  I like to travel, see people go out of their comfort zone and I think giraffes are cool.  So if you manage to take a picture of a giraffe from a helicopter in Africa with your book you would have a really good chance of winning.

The picture MUST be your own.  No going around stealing peoples pictures off the internet.  If it is on the internet there is a good chance we’ve seen it already.  If you are caught using someone elses pictures you will be disqualified from the contest.

Multiple Entries are permitted.  However, they must be different pictures and settings.  Don’t take a picture from each side of the Eiffel Tower and submit them all.  But if you took one from the ground and one from the top, that would be acceptable.

Here’s the fun part…  You win a handcuff and tie necklace from BrulezRulez.  BUT, if you knock this out of the park, I will up the prize.  I’m not sure what I will up it too, it wont be a trip to Seattle or anything crazy like that.  But an Amazon Gift Card wouldn’t be out of the question. And if I get more then one really cool entry, I may giveaway something else too.  Nothing big, probably just one of our Laters, Baby T-Shirts.  But I do want to put that on the table too.

Closing Date

While many of you could walk out your door and take a cool picture today many people cannot.  And since we want your very coolest pictures we’re going to give you time to find cool places and take your spring break vacations.  All photos must be submitted by May 9, 2013

How to enter:

You can enter via Email, Twitter, or Facebook.
Email – email the picture to latersbaby50@gmail.com
Twitter – send picture to us at @50Latersbaby, it must either be a DM or Mention and it must say it’s a contest entry.
Facebook send us a message or post to our Facebook page, again you must tell us that it is a contest entry.

After you submit your entry I will email/message/tweet you back to let you know we received the entry.  If you do not get a reply then you were not entered.  I will try to get back to you within a few hours, but give it a day or two before you start checking to see if I got it.  This step is VERY important.  If you don’t hear back from me it’s because I didn’t get it or because I couldn’t get in touch with you.  If I can’t get in touch with you, you could have the coolest picture in the world, but I can’t send you the prize.  Keep this in mind when you enter the contest, if you don’t check Twitter much, then entering via Twitter may not be your best option.  At the end of the contest if we don’t hear back from you within 10 days then we will award the first prize to someone else.

Other information about the contest.  We do want to use your pictures on the site.  And in particular we have every intention of posting the winning picture on the site, Facebook, Twitter.  If this is an issue for you, please let us know when you submit it.  We wont hold it against you, but we will try to find a compromise where we can still post the picture or at least part of it.

Today we are announcing a new giveaway.  For this giveaway Whatsthafuss is offering  a Fifty Shades of Grey charm bracelet in purple for us to give to one of our readers.

As usual, we want you to discuss a Fifty Shades of Grey question, this giveaway question is a little deeper then usual.  In Fifty Shades Darker, Leila (AKA Ghost Girl) visits Ana when she’s leaving SIP on a Friday on the way to Fifties for a drink.

When Ana finally remembers early the next morning she and Christian discuss how Leila knew who she was. Christian offers, “I have no idea how she found you. Maybe the photograph of us in Portland, I don’t know.” At first I thought he was referring to when Ana graduated, but it was more likely the photo from Jose’s show on Thursday night.  But as we all know, Leila is a resourceful girl.

We want to know how you think Leila found Ana?  Please feel free to expand on your theory….

Ana’s Firsts Bracelet

Today for our Christmas List I thought I would add another piece of jewelry, Ana’s Firsts bracelet from our friends at theforksforest.

This is my rendition of ANA’S FIRST BRACELET

Comes boxed in a wonderful red leatherette box.

Charms and chain are silver plated not sterling silver. It is 8.5 inches long and has a lobster clasp that makes it adjustable. Simply clasp one link in to shorten and the last charm becomes a dangle. Hand wrapped multi colored grey crystals or grey pearls have been added for a little extra dazzle. Beads may vary as goes my supplies, but it will be wonderful! If you would prefer it without the crystals just let me know, they can be removed.

Ana’s Ankle Bracelet

For today’s Christmas List idea I thought I would suggest some jewelry, something different then you usually see, I’m going for Ana’s ankle bracelet.  The one she purchases in Fifty Shades Freed on her honeymoon.

Our friends over at BrulezRulez have made one that is inspired by Ana’s, and really is quite close to what I had pictured the anklet looking like.  Mags and I gave one of these away a few months ago, and it’s a cute, unique gift from the series.

Handcuff Bracelet!

Over the summer I decided that I was going to buy myself a piece of jewelry with a handcuff on it.  I wanted it to be a little bit more substantial in size and weight.  While researching I came across an online jewelery site called emitations.com.  I found exactly what I was looking for “Caines Handcuff Bracelet”.

5 months later, it looks as good as the day i first wore it!

Fifty Shades of Grey Jewelry Coming….

Entertainment Weekly reports that CopCorp and H.E.R have announced a line of Fifty Shades of Grey costume jewelry is in the works.  I believe this is part of the original licensing agreement that E L James made this summer.  No timeline has been set for when it will be available.  But here’s to a pair of second chance earrings!

As promised, here are our favorite scenes from the series, we had a tough time picking just like the rest of you.

The beginning of Fifty Shades Darker when they get back together.  It breaks my heart to read about them so sad and then trying to figure out how to make it work again.  It’s my happy place.

Alright…my favorite scene from my favorite book of the trilogy, last but not least..Fifty Shades Freed in chapter 23 while Ana is going in and out of consciousness in the hospital after her encounter with Hyde.  When see awakens (slightly) to Christian and Grace talking about him cutting ties with Mrs. Robinson and how he finally realized how his relationship with her was wrong.
