THE FIFTY SHADES OF GREY BOOK BASED SCAVENGER HUNT – IN HONOR OF OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Thank you for joining us for the Laters, Baby – Fifty Shades of Grey book based scavenger hunt.  This is in honor of our one year anniversary today.  The hunt will consist of 13 questions from the entire trilogy.  The scavenger hunt will end at noon on Wednesday, May 1, 2013.  At that time we will post the answers in the site and tally up the responses we’ve received.  We will take the top 5 most accurate responses (plus ties) and randomly choose a winner from that group. The winner will be notified via email by Thursday morning. THE FIFTY SHADES OF GREY BOOK BASED SCAVENGER HUNT – IN HONOR OF OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

In honor of Latersbaby.net’s 1st anniversary we are hosting a – Fifty Shades of Grey book based scavenger hunt.  The scavenger hunt will start on April 30th and close on May1.

The hunt will consist of 13 questions from the entire trilogy.  We will post the questions by 8:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.  The scavenger hunt will end at noon on Wednesday, May 1, 2013.  We will post the answers at that time and will tally up the responses we receive.

Scavenger Hunt Results

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the scavenger hunt.  We know a lot of you were at work or working on phones.

A couple things did come out of the scavenger hunt:
We learned that different versions of the books had different names for Prescott, either Samantha or Belinda.  We did give credit for both.
I didn’t look this up, but it seems that Kate’s first had his name spelled differently, about half of the people spelled it Steve Paton the other half Steve Patrone.  We did give credit for both.

The first meal Christian and Ana had together got a couple different answers and since the question wasn’t very specific were a bit more lenient on that one.  But we were looking for the breakfast at The Heathman.

Some common mistakes:
A lot of people got question #18 wrong, we needed both the 76th floor and Columbia Tower.
A lot of people only put in that Christian cut up peppers, but they were red peppers.
The graduation gowns were red and black.

But my favorite answer was to the question about Christian’s favorite movie, that answer was The Graduate.

Scavenger Hunt (Online) – September 10

In honor of Ana’s 23rd birthday, Mags and I are hosting a scavenger hunt.  This will be a Fifty Shades of Grey book based scavenger hunt that everyone can participate in from home, work, or the playground.  The hunt will be on Monday, September 10 and will start at 11 AM EDT, if I have done my math correctly that would be 4 PM in London and 8 AM in Los Angeles.  We will ship internationally, it probably wont be Express Mail, but we would love to have some international hunters!

The hunt will consist of 50 questions and you will have 2 hours to complete it.  The questions will be detailed questions from each of the 3 books so you’ll want your books handy that day.

We will post the questions on the site at 11 AM with a full set of instructions.  Basically, you’ll need to answer the questions and send us an email with your answers before the 2 hours is up.  After the closing of the scavenger hunt we will do the calculations and notify the winner via email.  We will be disabling comments on the site during the hunt so no one accidentally posts answers.  We will post the answers later that day.

If you would like, we would be happy to email out the list of questions to you at 11 AM on September 10. Send us an email to latersbaby50(at)gmail(dot)com (or click the link to the right) requesting an email list of questions. Please let us know before 7 PM on September 9, we may be able to accommodate requests after that time, but we cannot guarantee it.

UPDATED: Scavenger Hunt on August 11

We have chosen a date for the New York City Scavenger Hunt, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM.

We are still planning to do an online scavenger hunt; however, we wanted to work out the details of this meet up first before committing to another scavenger hunt.

Date:  August 11, 2012
Time: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: East side of Union Square Park, across from Babies R Us, between 14th and 16th Street
Nearest subway lines: N, Q, R, 4, 5, 6
Mags and I will be wearing “Laters, Baby” T-Shirts

What will you be hunting for?
Fifty Shades stuff of course!  Sadly none of the book takes place in NY so we’re improvising.

* There will be a few adult items, but not many. You will be able to bring a child with you if you would like and skip those items.
* There will be a few items for purchase, you’ll need to keep the receipts. You are welcome to return them after the hunt if you would like and the store allows it.
* You will need a camera, camera phones are fine.  There will be a lot of photo opportunities.  We reserve the right to inspect your camera photos before the hunt.
* You may form teams with a maximum of 4 people, we encourage you to name your team – be creative!  You’ll need to take a photo of your team at the start of the event so we can reference it when counting points.

Registration:
We have created an Eventbrite registration page, please register ahead of time.  That will help us figure out how many people are coming so we can prepare ahead of time.  We will allow you to register up until the start of the event.

Fees:
In order to get people to register early and recoup some of the costs of the scavenger hunt the event will be free for the first 25 registrants and $5 for everyone after that.
Some other notes:
* There will be prizes, we just don’t know what yet.
* We would love to go out for a drink after and get to know you.
* You’ll probably want a Metro card for the day, you will have to travel around the city, primarily Manhattan.
* You may use your phone/Internet/phone a friend for help.
