Back in April at Romantic Times I had a chance to meet Shay Savage, my first impression of her was that she was crazy, a good crazy, but crazy. I very quickly learned that Shay was smart and that her experience with psychology has helped her develop books that are a bit different, and darker. At the time she recommended I try Alarm, it took a while for me to read it, but I finally did.
Alarm is my first Shay Savage book, and one of her earlier books, I suspect based on the way she recommended it that it might be one of her tamer books. Having said that, this was a bit darker of a book, but not terribly dark, I’ve read and reviewed much darker. But since I know some like dark, and some hate dark, I wanted you to know it’s a mildly dark romance.
Chloe is kind of boring, leads a very routine life and tries to stay out of trouble. Aiden is the bad boy, tattoos, dodgy about his job, dodgy friends. Or is he?
When you put all your preconceived notions aside (or Chloe’s) he seems like an awesome guy. And he’s good in bed. He might have been a little too much into dirty talk for my taste, but Chloe liked it. What we get is a fun story that might get you to rethink your own assumptions about people.
