During a recent extended interview that Dana Brunetti gave, he talked extensively on all things Fifty movie related from getting the gig producing, collaborating with Erika, the difficult casting process, why they’re filming in Vancouver, and he talked about the possibility of releasing an NC-17 cut of the film in theaters.
Back in May of last year, I was quoted in an MTV News article titled “Is’ Fifty Shades of Grey’ ” Too Hot For An R Rating?”. In the article I said that while I thought there was definitely going to be a challenge in balancing the sexy versus the smutty, but that I thought it would be done tastefully. I still think that. Team Fifty has done a great job so far and I have no doubt the final product will do the books, Erika, and the fans proud.
In the interview Dana says that the movie will have an R rating, but that he’d like to see an NC-17 version released a few weeks later for the fans that want it a little more gritty.
I for one will go and every version Team Fifty deems fit to release. I look forward to seeing what makes it into the movie and what doesn’t. As time goes on, I am more and more excited to see how Dakota and Jamie bring the characters of Ana and Christian to life.
What about you? Are you waiting with bated breath?
