Just a few weeks ago some of my favorite authors announced an exciting new project – Felony Ever After, available on March 22, 2016. As the introduction will tell you, Helena Hunting and Debra Anastasia had this brilliant idea for a book. Set up a basic framework for the story and pass it between 13 authors to write piece by piece. When I read this I thought it would either be a felonious disaster of a book or a brilliant story. I’ll admit you will not be a smarter person for having read Felony Ever After, but you may pee your pants while reading it, so get your depends ready! It’s is pure unadulterated brain candy!
She gasped and screamed, “Noooooo.”
No, that’s not a line from the book, that’s me reading it, in that shocked and yet hysterical way that only a book can make you do.
The story starts out with Verity Michael’s meeting Hudson Fenn in the back of a New York City taxi. It doesn’t take long for Hudson to rescue Verity by stealing the taxi. It’s a crazy meeting and not the last in their journey together. It’s also not their last felony together.
Helena Hunting, Debra Anastasia, Nina Bocci, Belle Aurora, JM Darhower, Vi Keeland, SM Lumetta, Liv Morris, Leisa Rayvan, KA Robinson, Katherine Stevens, Penelope Ward, and Tijan (apologies if I missed anyone or misspelled a name) take us on a fun, sexy and felonious adventure. The element of knowing each chapter was written by a different author made each chapter feel like a new adventure. Would the next chapter still feel like the same book? YES! But more so I wondered where the new author would take us? I was always rewarded by being proud of the author for taking the story to another level instead of just taking an obvious course. Of course that meant I had many moments of WTF and how the hell is someone going to fix this and does this even need to be fixed? It’s one of the craziest and funnest rides of a book I’ve taken in a long time. So keep your Urban Dictionary nearby, you’ll need it…
I would like to give a special shout out to chapters 16 and 19 – one rocked my world, the other reminded me of having my world rocked. It’ll make sense when you read it, promise.
I haven’t read the books of all of these authors, but I’ll be adding them to my To Be Read list.
It’s not a felony, so read Felony Ever After and read it soon.

Verity Michaels is new to New York City, but even she knows riding in a stolen a cab is not a normal way to meet someone. Damn it if that tattoo-covered would-be felon isn’t everywhere now, and lighting everything on fire under her skirt.
His name is Hudson Fenn, and he’s frustratingly impossible to pin down. He works as a bike messenger, but has the manners of a prince—along with a strange tendency toward breaking and entering. As much as Verity knows he’s not her type, and likely to land her in jail, she can’t help but find her truest self when they’re together.
Can she be brave enough to give Hudson a real chance? Will he be bold enough to reveal the man beneath the ink, or will his secrecy doom their connection? Also, WTF is the deal with Verity’s boss? No less than thirteen of your favorite romance writers have teamed up to tell this sexy, wacky, snort-inducing tale. With them you’ll visit the world’s most irritating office, a VIP room of questionable cleanliness, and the fanciest apartment a bike messenger has ever inhabited, but you’ll still never see this ending coming.
