This morning while I was getting my car inspected I noticed a tweet from Erika, seems she has a new book coming out on June 18th. And the fandom went crazy!
You can read the full press release on Erika’s blog. But here is what we know:
Releases June 18th in English throughout most of the world.
Pages: 576 (Fifty Shades of Grey is 514 pages)
In Christian’s own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.
Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.
Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?
I’ll admit, while I’ve always wanted to read Christian’s POV, it’s always made me a bit nervous, it’s a dark place in his head. I kinda liked the idea of hearing about his life with Ana after Freed. But, I’m super excited and the little tidbit that we’ve gotten has me very curious. Aside from the obvious from Christian’s side, what else will this have? Will we maybe get some flashbacks to his childhood. Visits to Elena and Dr. Flynn?
While I think we’ll get the stuff that Erika had at the end of Freed, I think we will be getting much more than just the same book from a different character.
How might this impact the film for Fifty Shades Darker? Has Erika written some of that? Or is she considering it? Will she talk to Niall and maybe had a touch of it, but not a lot. The suspense is killing me. I’m glad she didn’t announce months in advance.
