One day I was chatting with @FSOG_Australia on Twitter when she offered to gift me a Kindle Book. With a long reading list, that’s sometimes all it takes to get me reading a specific book. The book was Just Human by Kerry Heavens.
Liv and Danny were childhood sweethearts, until life pulled them apart and left them on different sides of the world for 12 years. When a chance opportunity brings them together, they quickly fall back in love. And have lots of sex. But when one of them starts to question the faith of the other. Oh, come on, it’s a romance novel, there has to be tension in it! But I’m not going to tell you what happens!
What I like about this book is that it’s very real and very romantic. It’s the kind of story that you think will never happen to you, but might know of someone that it has actually happened to (all the romantic stuff, hopefully not the heart wrenching tension). They take you places you may never have been – Los Angles, London and Bruges. Liv and Danny’s best friends are awesome too; because, you know we all need a best friend to guide us and keep us from screwing up a good opportunity.
Just Human is well written and from both Liv and Danny’s POVs. And unlikely some book boyfriends, he doesn’t think “fuck” all the time. It’s kind of refreshing.
