What is your name? Gemma
Where are you from? England, UK
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
I read an article about Fifty Shades online. After seeing some reviews on it I thought I would give it a go. The following day I bought a copy of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and was hooked the moment I started reading it.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
I read an actual book and then bought the trilogy as an ebook as well.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
I really enjoyed ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ but my favourite is ‘Fifty Shades Freed’.
I love how you see Christian and Ana deal with the issues you face when married, such as when Ana wants to keep her name at work. It was really interesting and great to see how far both Ana and Christian have come since ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’
What is your favorite scene in the series?
Wow, there are so many to pick! My favourite has to be the end of Fifty Shades of Freed when Ana is in the hospital. It was great to see Christian opening up to Grace and for me this is when Christian shows just how much he loves Ana and accepts becoming a parent.
How many times have you read the series?
Oh gosh, so many times I’ve lost count! Over 10 times!
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
I love ‘This Man’ by Jodi Ellen Malpas, ‘Bridget Jones’ by Helen Fielding, ‘The Crossfire series’ by Sylvia Day. There are so many more to pick but these are a few of my faves!
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her?
- Is there anything you wish you could add to the trilogy that is not in the books?
- When writing the trilogy who did you see playing each character?
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
Yes! In February I was very lucky and got to see Jamie on ‘The Graham Norton Show’. It was great to meet lots of Fifty Shades fans and to keep in touch with them. It was brilliant to see Jamie’s first interview after wrapping up ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. (And of course seeing ‘The Dornan Walk was a highlight!)
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
There are so many scenes that I am looking forward to. Of course the Interview, The Heathman Hotel, the first time they go in the Playroom, but I am most looking forward to when Ana leaves Christian. It is such a heartbreaking moment in the book that I cried, so I am excited to see how they portray it in the film.
