Where are you from? I’m from Quebec City, Canada. Yes I’m a French Canadian!
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
I’d been hearing about the Fifty Shades buzz right when it came out in stores. But I was not much of a reader. I kept looking at the book and reading at the synopsis on the back cover, but couldn’t bring myself to buy the book and to read it. Besides, I thought Christian was a 60 year-old man so I thought I wouldn’t relate to him.
Later on I heard about the movie being made and Jamie Dornan being cast as Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam had dropped out. I loved Jamie from Once Upon a Time and came to realization that Christian could not be a 60 year-old man. So I rushed to the store and got the 1st book I read it in one single night.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
I read the paperback books.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
I love Darker best; because, Ana succeeded in breaking his shell and show that he really is a good man with lots of love to give.
What is your favorite scene in the series?
It must be one of the scenes that made me cry the most. Of course, there’s the breakup, then how Ana reaches out to Christian when she gets him into telling her he loves her. But my favorite one is the Submissive Christian. It conveys to me that even the richest and most powerful man in the world who can have absolutely everything he wants, can’t do anything without love and support of a special someone.
How many times have you read the series?
I have read the series twice in French, twice in English. If you consider the fan fictions telling the story in Christian’s point of view, then the count would come up close to 8 times.
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
Right. So not only Fifty Shades allowed me to meet wonderful people and make long-term friendship, it made me start reading novels again. My favorite, for the same kind of intensity and emotion you find in Fifty Shades is the Thoughtless Series by. S.C. Stephens. Without a single doubt.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her?
- If you were to write a forth FSOG book, what would be the opening scene?
- What is your favorite Nutella recipe? I have a couple I could swap with you!
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
Besides my husband starting to give me the annoying look when tweeting on FSOG, my unique experience is right about the corner: having the privilege to attend the « premiere » in New York on February 6 and hangout with other wonderful FSOG fans. Then traveling to West Coast with my FSOG BFF to visit the places of worship related to you know what.
Oh! And can I add this one? Finding myself helping this new beautiful friend and new very gifted American author writing her fist romance series by giving her my two cents on her story.
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
This isn’t romantic at all, but I look forward into seeing the encounter between Christian, Ana and her mom at the hotel bar in Georgia! Erika depicts the scene as being very electrically charged. I remember getting belly butterflies when reading that part. I wonder if the feeling will be the same from the big screen!
