Gosh, I met Lisa over Twitter quite some time ago, she’s been on the podcast a few times and then FINALLY, I met her this summer in Portland. Awesome girl and very dedicated to her book research. Hopefully I’ll see her again in a few months to stalk the filming of Fifty Shades Darker.
What is your name? Lisa
Where are you from? Portland, Oregon
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
I saw the name of the book in several reviews and noticed that it was still at the top of the NY Times List for months. I picked up the first one at Barnes and Noble and started reading it. I put it down a few times but kept going back for more. I then went back and got the other two. My second time reading it was more enjoyable I think because I could focus more on the love story.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
I have two sets of the actual books. One is full of bookmarks of the different locations.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
I loved FREED.
What is your favorite scene in the series?
Their honeymoon in FREED. It just seemed like such a special time for them together in their own world. I liked that they worked together and compromised when an issue came up like riding the jet ski. I also liked when Ana gave him the camera and how he came to understand why she did it and then enjoyed it. Their honeymoon was filled with a lot of special moments for them.
How many times have you read the series?
A lot. Sometimes just a part I loved.
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
After reading FSOG I began to venture to some authors I had not read before. I think my favorite is still Alice Clayton and Wallbanger. I also love her Red Head Series. I really enjoy her humor. J. Kenner is another favorite. Other authors I have read: Maya Banks, Sylvia Day, M. Leighton, Colleen Hoover, Sylvain Renard, Jodi Ellen Malpas, Shayla Black.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her?
I was very lucky to meet her this last February in Vancouver BC. I was a bit star struck but I did get out one question about the book restaurant in Portland.
If I met her again:
-Is she planning to write more about Christian and Ana?
-Why did she decide to bring the BDSM lifestyle in to a story that started as TWILIGHT?
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
While visiting the locations around Portland I have met a lot of great people who are having fun being part of the books. The Heathman especially has embraced their part of the story and have been incredibly accommodating.
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
The part where she returns from Georgia and his reaction to her. I think she realizes then that she is so much more to him. Then of course the night that follows with Thomas Tallis.
