Back in July Lori had the opportunity to interview me for her radio show, Northwest Prime, the Fifty Shades of Grey one year later show. I thought it was time to return the favor. She’s a big Fifty Shades of Grey fan and with my connection to her I am 1 degree closer to E L James.
What is your name? Lori Ness
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey? research for Seattle Radio
Did you read an actual book or an ebook? ebooks
Which is your favorite book in the series? Hard to say because I see it as one story broken up over 3 parts.
What is your favorite scene in the series? So many again but one of my favorites is when they are in Aspen and he is showing Ana “their” house… lol because Christian is always telling Ana’s its all hers too… but anyway back to the question and Ana says, “why this house?” and Christian says “I was waiting for you” I also love when they are on their honeymoon and they recite their vows back but there really isn’t anything about the story I didn’t love.
How many times have you read the series? Well, as you know, I am in the 50 Shades Detox Program for readers in the “over 50 reads club” lol
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book or series? I really don’t read very much being in the music business. FSoG has inspired me to read more. Enjoyed Cyndi Tefts Between Series and Michelle Leightons books, Daisy Prescott, S.L Scott, Ruth Clampett, Lisa Renee Jones, it has been fun
Are you married, dating, or single? Married for 26 years
Who would you like to see play Christian and Anastasia in the movie? I don’t really have a preference as long as the chemistry is there.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her? (Aside from the ones you’ve already asked) Why does Christian brush his teeth before meals and what was the deal with Natalia???
When did you start doing your radio show? I was a DJ in LA for years before moving to the Pacific Northwest, playing music not much in-depth interviewing. Started this show to highlight great music coming out of Seattle that wasn’t getting heard but was still amazing. The show took on a life of its own from there.
What is the goal or mission of your radio show? The mission or goal of my show is to highlight nice people doing great things. Sounds simple and it is. These days, negativity is easy to find but wonderful people making a difference in a positive way in peoples lives, well, you have to search for, dig up and make and effort to find. I try to make that task just a little bit easier. There are so many talented people in the world who really move society forward for the greater good, some in small ways, some in larger ways. However large or small the step, it is still important to me. I’m not looking for perfect people, far from it but people who have a compassion or empathy for others. There is a sayings “Life, some of it tragic, and some of it magic” I don’t focus on the tragic but out of bad times, magically wonderful souls have been born. People who have had experienced life for better or worse yet move on with grace, love and kindness. Sounds like what the hippies said in the 60’s but after you’ve lived life for awhile you can appreciate the journey. It becomes easier to find the common good spirit in each other and try to celebrate the “common good” in each other. The “good” trumps any other differences we might have dwelled on, missing the gift that is right in front of us. I think that is why I am drawn to artists, they seem to see that quicker/easier than many others and the accepting spirit in which they see the world. Life is hard enough without any outside interference, we’re all just doing the best we can, sometimes we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong. That’s o.k. just keep going and maybe somewhere along the way we get the opportunity to give someone else a little lift up and vice versa. Nice people, doing great things, it happens every day. Its is a miracle to witness.
Where can people find you on the web?
Thanks Lori, I loved you explanation of why you do the show!
