What is your name? My name is Robin.
Where are you from? I’m from Hong Kong.
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
I love reading and shopping around in bookstores. Back in 2012, I came across Fifty Shades of Grey one day and was drawn to the sexy book cover with a silver tie. When I read the summary at the back of the book I fell in love instantly and bought the first book. It was so good that I couldn’t stop reading and finished it in one day. The next day, I went to the bookstore straight away and got Darker and Freed. I completed the trilogy in around three days and introduced it to all of my friends who love to read.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
I read an actual book.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
Fifty Shades Darker is my favorite book.
What is your favorite scene in the series?
Christian proposes to Ana in the boathouse with the flowers and his touching speech. And I also love the part where Christian begs Ana not to leave him and reveals his “submissive” side after Leila showed up in Ana’s apartment.
How many times have you read the series?
I’ve lost count but it’s over 20 times for sure for the entire trilogy and perhaps several times more for Darker.
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
Apart from Fifty Shades of Grey, I’m a big fan of the trilogy This Man and One Night as well as the standalone book Ugly Love. E.L James and Jodi Ellen Malpas are definitely my favorite authors of all times. Outside the erotic romance genre, I love Mitch Albom and John Green too because both of them are very inspiring authors.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her?
1. How did you come up with the title “Fifty Shades of Grey”?
2. How was the experience of being the producer of a film as compared to being the author of a book? And which one do you prefer or enjoy more?
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
I got to attend the Fifty Shades of Grey Gala Premiere in Hong Kong and it was an unforgettable experience. But above all, I get to know fans from all around the world and make friends with them. I have to admit becoming part of the Fifty Family is one of the happiest experience I have ever had in my life.
What was your favorite scene in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
That’s tough since there is so many amazing and classic scenes but I guess my favorite scene in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie would be the part where Christian and Ana dance after the first Red Room scene.
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades Darker The Movie?
I really look forward to seeing Ana presenting her gift and saying yes to Christian’s proposal after he returns from the tragic incident with Charlie Tango.
