As with many of the people I interview, I met Roberta on Twitter just talking about Fifty Shades stuff and her name was cute so she really stuck out to me.
What is your name? Roberta, but my screen name is 1Lavishone.
Where are you from? Southern California.
How did you come to read Fifty Shades of Grey?
I first read the story when it was posted as fanfiction under the title of Master of the Universe. I’ve also read it several times since it was published as Fifty Shades.
Did you read an actual book or an ebook?
I read the actual book and am lucky enough to have it signed by the author.
Which is your favorite book in the series?
Hard to choose, but perhaps Fifty Shades Freed, because who doesn’t love the promise of a happy ending?
What is your favorite scene in the series?
Far to many to designate a favorite. Not a cop-out, but I truly have too many to choose.
How many times have you read the series?
More than once. Perhaps more than 10.
Outside of Fifty Shades of Grey, what is your favorite book, series or author?
I really do read everything including cereal boxes. I read non-fiction, especially biographies, and I love a good mystery as well. I do read romance stories, though not much YA. I even indulge in a bit of fanfiction from time to time.
If you were to meet E L James today, what 2 questions would you ask her? Not sure I would ask her anything.
I would likely thank her for sharing her story and for being so generous to her fans.
Have you had any unique experiences because of your love of Fifty Shades of Grey?
I’ve met some amazing people and that I’ve been intrigued at how many find 50 Shades to be so personal and relatable to each and every one of them. Despite the controversy and BDSM uproar, at it’s heart, the novel is a romance. We follow Ana and Christian’s journey to love and happiness (with a few bumps and twists along the way). Ultimately, the fans have bonded through the experience of reading and then sharing their own stories/thoughts/feelings. That in itself is a unique experience and I’ve absolutely loved it.
What scene are you most looking forward to in Fifty Shades of Grey The Movie?
I am looking forward to many of the emotional scenes. Perhaps not fan favorites in particular, but those scenes that have felt pivotal to the romantice elements of the story.
Where can people find you on the web?
I can be found on Twitter as @1Lavishone aka Hello Dahling.
