When I was recently in Seattle, I had the chance to meet the author, Jennifer Locklear. She’s an awesome lady who is the female half of the writing team Morgan and Jennifer Locklear, they are husband and wife. After meeting Jennifer I really wanted to read one of their book, but I’m already in the middle of two series, I received a couple ARCs to review, my own TBR list is out of control – blah, blah, blah.
So, when I saw Morgan and Jennifer were part of an anthology that is being released today, I thought, PERFECT! Not only would I have a chance to read their writing, I would have a chance to read 19 other authors! And the proceeds go to a worthy charity. Here’s a description of the Passion in Portland anthology:
Twenty amazing authors. Twenty NEW stories. One fabulous anthology. Passion and romance in Portland, OR, tie these twenty novellas together. You will love every one, each unique but connected by their location, the beautiful Rose City.
The Passion in Portland 2016 Anthology is a project of hope. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to Bradley Angle, a non-profit organization that helps survivors of domestic violence.
Today, I’m just reviewing Shy by Morgan and Jennifer Locklear: Anthony is shy, very shy… But he does have a little bit of a wild side, as the reader quickly finds out. He’s taking his girlfriend away for the weekend, in what proves to be a fun and romantic trip to the mountains outside of Portland. The writing is superb, I felt Anthony, I felt his shyness and I felt his nerves when we was stepping outside his comfort zone. So while the story is sweet and sexy, it was the writing that drew me into the story, Morgan and Jennifer don’t tell me how their characters feel, they make me feel what they feel. And in this case, it’s sweet and sexy!
Take a chance on Passion and Portland, and get to read a little bit from Morgan and Jennifer as well as 19 other authors: A.J. Downey, A.K. Layton, A.J. Harmon, Alex Rosa, Anie Michaels, Anna Brooks, Cassia Leo, Eliza Boyd, Gretchen S.B., Heather Carver, Heidi Mason, Jaycee Ford, Kimberly Kennedy, Mary Crawford, Nicole Richard, R.J. Van Cleave, Sara M. Cradit, Sidonia Rose, and Stae Lee. That’s what I like about anthologies, you can get a taste of an author you never read, or maybe never heard of and open up a whole new door for reading.
