The final book in Sylvain Reynard’s Florentine Series will be out tomorrow, December 6, 2016, The Roman. From the start of the series, Sylvain has woven a beautiful story, The Roman is no exception and has an amazing closing for the series.
The Roman picks up where The Shadow left off, continuing the story of William, Raven, and the city of Florence. We get some more of Raven’s sister, Cara and Father Kavanagh, as well as a new character, The Roman. The story has a lot of adventure, taking us deeper into the dark world of vampyres.
There are battles, angst, suspense and of course love. I often found myself wondering where Sylvain was going with the story and found the different twists refreshing, I truly didn’t know how the story would end.
This was actually my favorite book in the series. I found myself rethinking beauty and power and if they important as we sometimes think they are. As for the life span of a vampyre, it’s obvious it’s not about how much time you have on earth, but how you use that time. While these themes came up throughout the series, the lessons were brought home in the way Sylvain completed this epic story.
